videographer, caterer, make-up artist, cake, favor manufacturer, bridal car, etc.
11 Months Before the Wedding
• Check and secure marriage license requirements in your area
• Obtain marriage license from your city/municipal hall
• Choose members of the wedding entourage
• Make a list of primary sponsors and check their availability
• Choose the officiating priest / pastor and check his availability
10 Months Before the Wedding
• Decide on color motif and wedding theme
• Sign a contract with the caterer, reception venue and church/ceremony site
9 Months Before the Wedding
• Choose a designer for the bridal gown, gowns for the entourage and
mothers’ gowns
• Schedule gown fittings
8 Months Before the Wedding
• Book and discuss floral arrangements with florist
• Book photographer and videographer
• Book musician and select music for both ceremony and reception
7 Months Before the Wedding
• Choose and order the wedding ring
• Take a sample copy of missalette from the officiating priest / pastor.
• Review the content and make the desired changes if allowable.
• Have the revised copy of the missalette approved by the priest / pastor.
6 Months Before the Wedding
• Finalize members of the entourage
• Select mass readers, program hosts and other program participants
• Order invitations, announcements, missalettes, and personal stationery.
5 Months Before the Wedding
• Book and finalize everything with the rest of wedding suppliers
• Make a directory of all pertinent persons and suppliers and keep it handy.
• Finalize the guest list
• Finalize honeymoon plans and book itinerary.
• Order bridal accessories
• Select wedding extras: the guest book, ring pillow, favors and of course,
something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.
• Register at a bridal registry
4 Months Before the Wedding
• Confirm fitting schedules with the designer and inform all concerned
• Order the wedding cake (if not provided by the reception venue/caterer)
• Make an appointment with the hairdresser and make-up artist of choice for
trial session.
• Arrange for the food tasting with caterer or reception venue
• Finalize missalettes, invitations and other printed materials orders
3 Months Before the Wedding
• Meet with the Priest / Pastor to discuss ceremony and any pre-marital
counseling required
• Make final arrangements for the ceremony: payments, legal and
church requirements.
• Secure wedding bann certificate
• Submit marriage license and all needed documents to the church
• Address and send out the invitations and announcements
2 Months Before the Wedding
• Finalize the ceremony plans and reception program
• Draft the wedding programme
• Plan and schedule a time for the wedding rehearsal
• Arrange transportation for the two of you and your immediate families
• Book a hotel room for wedding day, if required
• Reconfirm honeymoon reservation
• Pick up rings
• Plan the Despedida de Soltera
1 Month Before the Wedding
• Confirm attendance of guests. Call those who did not respond to the RSVP
• Notify caterer of final number of guests and confirm reception plans
• Arrange final fittings for you and members of the entourage
• Visit your dermatologist
• Have a complete medical and dental check- up
• Delegate duties and responsibilities to friends and family who are not part
of the entourage
• Have gowns delivered
2 Weeks Before the Wedding
• Have a final recap with all the suppliers
• Prepare thank you notes
1 Week Before the Wedding
• Pack for your honeymoon
• Have a final check of all the details
• Prepare recpetion seating arrangement
• Attend wedding rehearsal and dinner
• Attend bridal showers and Despedida de Soltera
• Get a trim
• Have enough rest
1 Day Before the Wedding
• Finalize reception seating arrangements
• Pack everything you need for the church
• Prepare an "emergency kit" for the ceremony with extra hosiery, nail polish,
scissors, needle and thread, bottled water, oil blotter, face powder, lipstick.
• Indulge on a massage or aromatherapy
• Get your final manicure and pedicure in the evening
• Have a good night sleep
THE BIG DAY
• Give yourself enough time for hair and make-up and pictorial session
• Have a light meal before the ceremony
• Hand over the emergency kit to one of your bridesmaids
• Savor and enjoy every special moment of your big day.
Things may not go as planned, but the important thing is to remember that this day is
is the day you will seal your Promise of Everlasting Love.
